Celebrity Style
My biggest inspiration on a daily basis has to be celebrity style. I remember growing up and always rushing to watch celebrities walk the red carpet on TV before award shows just to see what they were wearing. I remember being 13 years old, scrolling through Tumblr, and being amazed at some of my favorite entertainer's street style.
In this section, I will be uploading some of my favorite outfits that celebrities have worn. Celebrities are the root of trends, and it's important that we note where certain trends come from to understand the full scope of them to predict which direction the zeitgeist of the industry is going.
Keke Palmer
Keke Palmer is a queen in so many ways, and one of them is her fashion sense. Her fashion sense and street style has been underrated for so long, and it's time that someone gives her (or her stylist) the credit she deserves! Keke's style is refreshing, fun, and colorful. She surprises us every time she steps out, and we never know what to expect with her! I love that her style is unpredictable, so we can't ever anticipate what she'll bring to the table next, much like her entertainment endeavors. Keke doesn't follow trends and she steps to the beat of her own drum. Let's give Keke her fashion flowers!
Megan Fox
Actress Megan Fox has always been a beauty mogul. This last year she has risen from the ashes and has taken on more of a mainstream public image due to her relationship with rapper Machine Gun Kelly. Her outfits have matched the aura of that bad a** rock star girlfriend, and we can truly get a sense of her style and personality through her current street style. Her stylist, Maeve Reilly has an immaculate eye for style and precision. Megan's outfits are so perfectly curated for her image, it's almost as if each time she steps outside it's for a role that she's so accurately playing. She is one of my favorite fashion it girls right now and I'm so excited to see more looks from her this year!
Michael B. Jordan
For my first ever men's celebrity-style feature, I had to choose none other than the one and only Michael B. Jordan. I have a very high standard for menswear and men's fashion, so it's very rare that a male celebrity catches my eye with their style.
Michael B. Jordan has piqued my interest lately with his immaculately tailored suits, fashion campaigns for Coach, and street style. Whether he's on the red carpet or simply walking the streets, he always manages to serve a look. He balances looking well put together and modern, while also being on-trend yet classy at the same time. Here are some of my favorite looks of his.
Selena Gomez
This might come as a surprise, but this week's celebrity spotlight feature is none other than 29-year-old actress and singer Selena Gomez. I chose Selena for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that she is extremely underrated when it comes to her fashion sense and street style. Selena has been photographed in public always looking so modern and well put together. No one ever talks about her street style or gives her any credit in fashion, so I'll be the one to do it! Selena has such a cool, edgy, yet classic sense of style. The second reason I chose her is that out of all the female celebrities, I can genuinely say I relate to her style the most. I can easily see myself wearing any of these outfits. Unlike many other celebrities, she dresses relatively "normal", meaning her outfits are replicable and easy to digest. She is certainly one of my celebrity style influences. Zendaya
This week's celebrity spotlight feature is Zendaya. Zendaya is an actress and singer best known for her roles in Spiderman, Euphoria, and many other films and TV shows. Zendaya is being awarded this year by the CFDA with the Fashion Icon Award. Her style never really stuck out to me in particular, but when she was named the Fashion Icon of 2021, I took it upon myself to do some research on some of her best looks. I was pleasantly surprised to notice that she had some great looks on and off the red carpet. I love her style because it doesn't follow specific trends and she often embodies an androgynous style. These are some of my favorite looks of hers.
Hailey Bieber
This week's spotlight is on one of my favorite socialites.
Hailey Bieber, model and wife of Justin Bieber is one of fashion's current "it girls". She seems to have it all - the boy, the succesful career, and the AMAZING wardrobe we all envy! I am utterly obsessed with her street style in particular. Her stylist is a genius. Every time she steps outside, she gives us class, sophistication, and just the right amount of minimilism.
